Le souffle du khloy,
Cambodia 23min

After co-directing my first documentary in Burkina Faso, I decided to continue my journey independently, driven by a desire for deeper immersion. I traveled alone to Cambodia, without a film crew, and lived there for several months, fully engaging with the local culture.

Through field recordings and intimate encounters with people from different generations, I created a series of portraits shaped by personal memories of the regime of Pol Pot and reflections on contemporary Cambodia. These voices speak of poetry, resilience, and the shifting landscape of a country still transforming.

Shot in DV PAL and structured around two parallel layers — sound and image — the film weaves together audio and visual narratives that intersect and echo one another, mirroring the intimate stories at its heart.
